Tupelo Gums near Menifee

Tupelo Gums are pretty rare in a grove this large.  I have heard of one other grove that is larger and hope to see it sometime later this year.  The Tupelo gum tree is often over looked as a Cypress, which are much more common in Arkansas.  The best way to tell the difference is the leaf.  The Cypress tree has a needle and the Tupelo gum has a rounded leaf.  They turn a beautiful golden color in the fall and look like Aspen trees.  When you can catch the sunlight behind them it makes for a beautiful photograph.
