Cedar Falls on Petit Jean Mountain
The water was running about as high as I have ever seen it when I took this photo. This was a scene from 2009 after the heavy rains fell in mid October. Most of the time in the fall, Cedar Falls is either dry or a dripping spring, so I was pleasantly surprised by what I found that day. I have viewed many other photographs from this period so many other photographer in Arkansas were lucky also. You can best reach Cedar Falls, which is on Petit Jean Mountain, by hiking down from the Mather Lodge trail.
