Falling Water Falls after a summer storm

High Water on Falling Water Creek (Click on photograph to purchase a print)

Falling Water Creek is by far the best for photograph when the water level is high enough to totally run over the ledge.  This shot was taken on July 4th 2003 which for this of year is a very rare event.  I had been hiking all day on Richland and heard the sounds of a thunderstorm off in the distance.  No water came up on Richland, but when I crossed over Falling Water Creek on the way back to my truck it had risen over 2 feet.  This photo was taken just as the last light of the day was on the creek so I was able to use a very long shutter speed.  Falling Water creek can be best reached by driving up Hwy 7 to Pelsor and then following Forest Service Road 1205.
