Sylamore Creek sunrise near Gunner Pool Campground

Sunrise at Sylamore Creek (Click on photograph to purchase a copy)

Samore Creek is by far one of the best small creeks in Arkansas.  It runs eastward near Mountain View Arkansas and empties into the White River.  There are several great campgrounds along the creek most of which were created by the CCC back in the 1930′s.  The best of these campgrounds is Gunner Pool which is a favorite of mine.  This photograph was taken from the high concrete bridge over Sylamore Creek near Gunner Pool.  I was out walking around looking for early morning light and caught this photo with the sun breaking through the morning fog.  The Sycamore trees that year had some excellent color.

Sacrosanct. Nothing can compare to Sylamore Creek on a foggy morning with shafts of sunlight slicing through. Add whatever season’s foliage, and you have a portal to another world.

    You caught it.

      Katherine:

Thanks, I love Gunner Pool and try to get up there at least once a year. That shot was taken in the late
fall, I had gotten up early to catch another shot and was on the bridge when the sun started to break out.

      Sincerely,
      Paul Caldwell
