Building summer storm from Flatside Pinnacle (Click on photograph to purchase a print)
You can often catch a summer storm building up over the Ouachita Mountains from Flatside Pinnacle. On many of my trips to Flatside, the sky will start out with just a few clouds but as the day’s heat builds up, the clouds will start to billow up and soon a storm starts to make it’s presence known. I would recommend getting off of the summit before the storm hits as the danger of lightening is quite real. Noice the rolling hills and how they all overlap. Hopefully no more clear cutting will continue to ruin the view off the to the right.
