When the water level on the Cossatot gets really low say under 10 CFS, you can work right into the Washing Machine itself.  This photograph was taken in 2004 in the fall which is one of the best times to catch lower water levels on the Cossatot.  Cannonball the large rock below the main drop is out of the frame to the immediate left.   I found that this water lever allowed me to catch the river at angles I had never been able to get before.
